Hello!

I am Radoslaw Grymin, a PhD candidate
at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology

I am a researcher working on the development of scheduling techniques for discrete-continuous problem of UAV-based aerial inspection. My passion is to employ robotics and computer science for practical purposes.

About Me

Biography

I was born in 1990 in Wrocław, where throughout my teenage times, I was a participant of courses for the most mathematically talented pupils in Poland organised by Wrocław University of Science and Technology, under the supervisory of Dr. Zbigniew Romanowicz. I graduated from the 8th High School in Wrocław, and afterwards I started studies in Computer Control and Robotics in the Faculty of Electronics at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, from which I received my B.Sc. degree in 2013. Next, I pursued my M.Sc. studies in the field of Information Technologies in Control Systems, finished in 2015 with master thesis entitled "Parallel Branch and Bound method for the Traveling Salesman Problem" marked with excellent degree.

In 2015 I started my PhD studies in the Department of Control Systems and Mechatronics at the same university. My research focuses on optimization of discrete-continuous problems.

Interests

  • logistics
  • supercomputing
  • metaheuristics
  • scheduling theory
  • parallel computing
  • discrete optimization

Engineering

Although I started my programming adventure with C and Assembler, C++ eventually became my favourite language and life passion. I spent 10 years on improving my knowledge about programming but I am still looking for new opportunities to gain professional experience. For almost four years I have been a software development engineer in Nokia creating TELCO solutions used worldwide. Currently I am a Software Consultant in GlobalLogic, creating software for automotive industry.

Hobby

sailor In my free time I sail as a captain, what helps me improve my organization and management skills. I have a certificate of competency of yacht skipper and short range operator's certificate. I have an experience as a captain and officer on boats up to 16 meters long on the Ionian Sea, Adriatic Sea, Indian Ocean and Tyrrhenian Sea. In the high school I was a leader of boatswain's work, and coordinated 20 people in Water Scout Center "Stanica" in Wrocław.
